How do you minimise the "interminable scrolling" effects in an Excel page in ICA?

From ICA client version 9.xx, generally speaking the scrolling speed is determined by the value of parameter TW2StopwatchScale in the registry. The more this parameter's value is increased, the better the scroll control will be (to the detriment of the scrolling speed). To change this value, a text file needs to be created bearing the suffix ITREG and containing the following lines:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\WBT\Clients\Registration\ICA\Global\Thinwire3.0]
"TW2StopwatchScale"="XX"

Then simply apply this ITREG file in the terminal via ItiumAdmin.
 
How do you personalise the screen saver image ?

Itium in Windows CE version 2.2.8 or later.

  • Copy the image file in BMP format onto a USB key and insert the key into the terminal.
  • From the "Display" tab in the terminal properties in the "Screen Saver" section, click on the "Import" button
  • In the "Import a bitmap" dialogue box, double-click on the "disk" directory
  • Select the BMP image file to be imported and click on the OK button
  • In the drop-down list, select "UserBitmap"
  • Check the display by clicking on "View"

    How do I restore the factory parameters if I have selected incorrect display parameters ?

    Press the F7 key during the terminal start-up phase.
    The error message: "invalid serial number" is displayed when emulations are activated from the ConsoleAdmin

    This problem occurs on some Itiums. To correct this problem, download the latest version of the Itium administration service and export the component containing the required emulations from ConsoleAdmin to the Itium. This correction will be directly included as from version 1.1.5 of the system mirror image.
    How can a parallel printer local to Itium be installed, accessible with RDP ?

    To install a printer locally with RDP, follow the instructions: On the server, click on Start > Parameters > Printers > Add a printer > Local printer > Itium: LPT1 > brand and model of printer.
    How to configure 5250 emulation for local Itium printing (AS400)?

    For local printer configuration that is accessible in 5250 emulation, observe the following instructions: Create a new "terminal emulation client" connection from the "configure" tab in the connection manager. > Specify IBM5250 emulation and IBM3812-1.model. > Enter the "hostname" and click on Advanced > click the "5250 options" button to configure the printer's "AS400" settings. > Tick the "print direct to port" option in the "printer port setting" box. When you next log in using this profile, the AS400 system will create a print queue for this printer.
    How can the connection manager be accessed from a Windows session?

    From version 1.07 of the core system onwards, the connection manager is accessed by pressing the CTR-ALT-End keys simultaneously. For earlier versions of Itium, the connection manager is accessed with the key combination CTR-ALT-DEL
    Why can't Itium connect to servers in DHCP mode ?

    This problem happens only with version 1.04 of the image system in Itium. The problem is corrected from version 1.06 onwards
    How should a session be disconnected working from the connection manager ?

    Simply select the active profile and click on the End button. You may also need to terminate a session that has an active status but that has not been completed (because of a network problem or a faulty parameter in the connection profile). In this case click on the End button then confirm by clicking on the End task button.
    Can Itium open several work sessions at the same time? If so, how many sessions can it manage?

    Itium is capable of opening up to eight RDP sessions simultaneously or four simultaneous ICA sessions. A limit will be placed on the number of connections at a later date.
    Is there a quick way to switch from one session to another ?

    Use key combination CTRL-ALT-Up arrow and/or Down arrow.
    How can the Itium parameters be modified (display, networks) ?

    The Itium properties are accessed by pressing the F2 key when in the connection manager.
    On which servers can Itium open a session ?

    With the RDP protocol, Itium can connect to servers running Windowns NT4 TSE or Windows 2000 server. With ICA, Itium can open sessions on CITRIX Winframe or Metaframe machines.
    How can 65000 colours be displayed during an ICA session ?

    The 65000 colour mode is available if you open a session on a server running Citrix Metaframe 1.8 Feature Release 1 (FR1). For Itium versions after 1.04 you need to configure the "high colours" display mode in the terminal display properties (F2) to access this display mode with ICA.
