Les Ulis, 29 August 2006 – Impact Technologies, the manufacturer of Itium thin client and Fitwin asynchronous communication card solutions, announces the new version of its ItiumAdmin centralised console for Itium thin client administration. Supplied free of charge with each terminal, the new version facilitates remote thin client management, whether they are connected or not. ItiumAdmin, which is Windows CE 3.0, 4.0, 4.2 and 5.0 compatible, also incorporates a remote wake-up function (WakeOnLan) for update deployment or configuration changes.

Off-line terminal identification

Thanks to ItiumAdmin's intuitive interface, administrators can display all the thin clients installed in a tree-structure form, including those who are off-line. ItiumAdmin memorises the identification and configuration of the off-line thin clients so as to provide the administrator with a unified view of all the machines whatever the connection mode (by a local network or through a router or a remote access server). The ItiumAdmin console provides the means for grouping thin clients according to personalised criteria (user's activity, service, location, etc.) in order to simplify update deployment or configuration changes.

Optimised update management

The new version of ItiumAdmin also incorporates a remote thin client wake-up function (WakeOnLan), providing greater flexibility for update deployment or changing configurations. Apart from the remote start-up, ItiumAdmin also provides the means for considerably reducing the network traffic linked to an update. The Remote Release Server function converts one of the thin clients of a local group into an update server, avoiding the need to have to download all of the update files onto each terminal.

Windows CE 3.0, 4.0, 4.2 and 5.0 compatibility

ItiumAdmin is compatible with all the versions of Windows CE used by the Itium thin client terminals. This compatibility facilitates unified management of thin clients according the company's trade criteria.
